Hi, I’m Austin

I am a seasoned creative professional with twelve years of experience spanning nearly every facet of creative production.

Throughout my career, I have worn many hats; graphic designer, audio engineer, videographer, visual communications manager, and most recently, producer, overseeing high-quality video projects both in-house and at the agency level. While some may view a jack-of-all-trades is a master of none, I believe my diverse experience provides a unique advantage. It has given me a deep understanding of various creative disciplines, allowing me to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, anticipate challenges, and ensure seamless project execution.

At the end of the day, I am passionate about storytelling. I believe that every brand, project, and individual has a compelling story to share, and I would love the opportunity to help bring yours to life.

Professional Experience

Owner / Creative Lead | Tricycle Productions

February 2013 - Present

As founder and creative lead for Tricycle Productions, I’ve produced brand and campaign content for a wide range of local clients. My role spans client onboarding, concept development, video direction, motion design, and final delivery. I’ve worked across diverse industries, from education to lifestyle (with a focus on small business), creating emotionally resonant and visually consistent content that supports measurable marketing goals. I also manage project budgets, timelines, and creative teams as needed.

Video Producer | Chess.com

October 2021 - June 2024

At Chess.com, I led the full-cycle production of both educational and promotional video content for the company's premium platform and social channels. I collaborated directly with chess masters, coaches, and internal stakeholders to transform complex educational material into digestible and engaging video experiences. My work helped support the platform’s rapid growth from 40M to over 140M global users, contributing to a 355% increase in platform engagement during my time. I played a key role in scaling the video production pipeline, developing standardized templates and workflows, and ensuring brand consistency across a high volume of deliverables.

Senior Videographer | Focal Point Marketing & Multimedia

March 2019 - January 2021

At Focal Point Marketing, I oversaw creative video production for a portfolio of clients across a broad variety of industries. I produced short- and long-form content tailored for YouTube, TikTok, and OTT ad platforms, collaborating closely with paid media strategists to align creative direction with performance metrics. I managed the editing pipeline and post-production process, building scalable systems to increase output efficiency and campaign agility.

Visual Communications Manager| Chess4Life LLC

August 2015 - September 2018

I led visual brand strategy and content development for Chess4Life’s national scholastic chess programs. My role encompassed video production, photography, graphic design, and marketing asset development across both digital and live event platforms. I collaborated with executive leadership to execute marketing strategies that helped expand regional presence and brand credibility. Additionally, I established and maintained brand guidelines, trained junior creatives, and optimized our internal creative workflows for better speed and consistency.

Marketing Coordinator | Chess4Life LLC

August 2013 - August 2015

In this early-stage marketing role, I contributed to the planning and execution of digital, print, and in-person marketing initiatives. I created newsletters, social content, and promotional materials to support program outreach and brand engagement. I also coordinated logistics, marketing, and collateral for live tournaments and school partnerships, contributing to increased program enrollment and market expansion.

Media & Production Intern | Mars Hill Church

November 2013 - June 2014

I assisted with audio and visual set-up/production for 5 weekly services, with over 3000 in attendance. I also helped with stage construction and prep/maintenance, assisted staff with daily operations, and took a major role in Easter and Christmas events attended by over 10,000 people.
